QSI 6162 OAG 8 filter wheel connections with The Sky X
I was able to connect the camera to the computer through The Sky X, but when I try to connect the filter wheel to TSX I get the following message.
?
The command is not supported by the selected device Error=228
?
I am using QSI VERSION 2023.06.16 on a Windows Enterprise Eagle 5 computer.
?
any suggestions?
thank you |
QSI6162 for sale
Before I list this on cloudy nights I wanted to see if anyone in the group might have an interest. I purchased this in 2021 and it’s been housed in my observatory. It has the 8 position filter wheel and off-axis guider.?
Nothing wrong with the camera, just moving on to a new setup.? If you have any interest you can email me peterproulx@....?
?
Thanks,
?

Bruce,
That's a real beauty. I am very fond of star cluster with their different star colours, which you have presented so beautifully here. It looks like a rich sprinkling of diamonds, with yellow and blue sapphires on black velvet.

Re: QSI760 Issues
Thanks for the ideas.
?
?
If Atik is unable to solve these problems, I think my best course of action is to sell the QSI760. ?Short-term, I'm probably going to swap it out with my more reliable ASI6200 (pains me to say this). ?That's the price I pay when I decide to live on the edge and go with an unproven product. ?Every product has limitations. ?In my current use case, I'm finding the QSI760 is not a viable alternative.?
?
edit - last night I did a partial night run. ?Out of 19 subs, 8 were blank. . .?

Re: QSI760 Issues
Not sure if you can use either of these workarounds, but the reason you see these so frequently is likely because you are hooked up to a USB Hub and trying to get USB 3 speeds.?
?
1) If you can bypass the hub to the Beelink, you should see much more reliable performance. This is what I do, with my Beelink mounted on top of my Pegasus UPB.
?
2) If you drop it down to USB2 speeds, you may be able to avoid this at the cost of longer download times. You may be able to guess why I didn’t do this.
?
For the image interruptions triggered by Voyager, what exposure times do you happen to be using? What I noticed is that if you interrupt an exposure, it doesn’t seem to stop the exposure, just discard it once the exposure is done. So if you interrupt a 10 min exposure, you need to wait up to 10 min before starting a new exposure will work. At least with my NINA setup and the camera test app, this has been true.? |
QSI760 Issues
Does anyone know if there is a more recent driver for the QSI760 than the v2024.09.05?
?
I am having frequent USB communication issues as described by @Nycturne in post #28649. ?My QSI760 is at a remote site so troubleshooting takes time. ?Currently I have the camera connected to a PegasusAstro UPBv2 then through the AP Mach2 mount and ultimately to a Beelink minipc. ?The USB3 cables are all from reputable companies. ?To further troubleshoot, I'm in the process of replacing the USB cables with ones from L-Comm and upgrading the UPBv2 to UPBv3. ?Obviously I cannot change the internal AP Mach2 cable. ?The problems I have are these 2 types
?
It is very frustrating to have these problems. ?Out of 10 nights, I wake up to problems 8 times. ?There has to be a way for the drivers to perform an automatic reset instead of the user having to power cycle the QSI760. ?I have a ASI6200 and never had a problem with this same setup. ?

Re: Question about screw size on QSI-683
Joe.
?
Attached is a .pdf copy of the original QSI 500-600 Series Customer Reference Drawing, rev H3.
?
According to this document the thread size for the liquid cooler mounting holes on the camera back-plate are 6-32 UNC with a maximum length of 1/4" (.250).
