QCX mini Template

Hi gang,
I am not planing to cheat Hans on his wonderfull case for the QCX mini, just because I am so penny-wise that I do not buy his tight-fit-far-east creation, but I need a custom enclosure to fit both some LiPos and maybe even a tuner of sorts.
Does anybody have a template for me to drill the front plat knobs? Yes, I could measure them out, but by experience, measured twice, cut thrice and still too short.. am humbly asking for advice.
?
NO! I do NOT intend or even try to drive towards some of those new age crapy 3D prints. I already have a aluminium box that would fit, given the right holes punched trough it's roof. This is where a template would help.

Having the same for QCX+ and the old QCX standart would also help: I have some exemplares built and peacefully living in some chocolate-candy boxes still longing for a case I could punch out of some aluminium scrap if I would know where to put the drill.

Hoping for help! Thanks es 73!

You could use a "new age crapy 3D print" as a template for the cutting.?

Also Hans has printed the display outline on the PCB's :??which allows easy taking over the location.

Hi and thank you very much for the advices, but none help.
What a crapy 3D print is, is and remains a mistery to me.
The link you sent shows the photograph of an original QCX and even if this would have helped (it woult have not, because I can take a foto myself, but this will loose the scale)
I am in search of a template for the QCX mini.

What I might do: I might purchase a QCX mini case, put it on top of? a xerox machine in the next copy-shop, make a 1:1 copy of it's frontplate and have the template I need to punch trough while drilling those poor couple of holes and the window for the display.

And then: ......yess!..... Then I'll wait behind the corner until the next far east shortage comes and sell the unused NOS case for an insane price and reinvest the money earned in a multi-billion-dollar template making company.?

Yessss! That's me, or at least the faint shadow of the businesman my parents might have wanted to have for a son.

Hello Razvan

The drilling template for the older QCX was already on the QCX page for some years, see and scroll down.?

I have added the drawings for the QCX-mini and QCX+ at the bottom of their respective web pages?see and

P.S. to be clear - these drawings are OK to be used if you want to make 3D printed enclosures or your own enclosures for your own project involving your own QCX-mini, QCX+ etc. But NOT to be used for any kind of mass production or commercial use to make competing enclosures :-)

Also, the PCBs have soldering pads to allow you to place the controls anywhere you want in your enclosure. You can be very creative if you want your own layout.??
