CAT Problem maybe?
Hi Ian? That must be correct, it just means pressing PTT doesn't generate any audio. Hence no RF. It presumably just activates RX/TX changeover only but doesn't generate RF.? I can't check this now... But probably someone else can comment?? 73 Hans G0UPL http://qrp-labs.com -------- Original message -------- From: "Ian G4GIR via groups.io" <i.frith@...> Date: Sat, Nov 13, 2021, 12:14 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Fw: [QRPLabs] CAT Problem maybe?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks Hans
?
This terminal emulation etc is a bit new to me, I have PuTTY working but like a man with no arms!! Hopefully you can check it, I think you are using WSJT-X? I got some data in the log file but not sure what I am looking at lol. Will keep at it.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBut any other rig does send RF when clicked on. WSJT-X returns a RED flag when used with QDX, which means the PTT hasn't switched, what is the use of the PTT test in WSJT-X if it doesn't turn GREEN ?

Hi IanHans?Ian Yes, PTT in "Settings" tests PTT, no signal is output. "Tune" sends audio to rig. 73 Alan G4ZFQ |

Yes, PTT in "Settings" tests PTT, no signal is output.Ryan, I am confident that that is what I see on other radios. "Test PTT" no audio at all. No reason for a QDX to be different. 73 Alan G4ZFQ That indicates that the power output setting in WSJT-X isn't all the way to the top, but it is for Tune. Make sure the slider is all the way up. |

I checked mine, with all the Windows settings at maximum just about 2dB reduction on the WSJT-X slider stops the QDX. Seems rather close to me. Hmm. Just tried it on a W7 laptop (installing driver is another story!) Two flashes with all at maximum.. 73 Alan G4ZFQ |

Thanks for the replies, yes I aggree now, that PTT TEST doesn't send RF, so my original problem of QDX not TXing when told to by JTDX/WSJT-X still exists. Think it maybe a setting in L32 now. Will keep you updated. 73 Ian G4GIR ----- Original Message -----
