QCX modification for 40 Meters

 

I purchased a QCX with the filter components for 20 meters.? I would like to build it as a 40 meter instead. The inductors are not a problem but the capacitors I have for the 40 meter conversion have a 50 volt rating.? It seems like 50v is enough but should I have a higher voltage rating?

j"aurais aimé répondre ,mais je n'ai toujours pas re?u l'encodeur et je suis toujours bloqué sur 3520,000 certes j'entends

asez bien la cw avec le filtre 40m mais c'est tout la bf pour moi la bf est suffisante, j"ai intègré un petit haut parleur

de 24 ohms dans le boitier de pd7maa, et c'est très bon ,si

vous avez les ref de l'encodeur je peux peut être trouver chez "Mouser"

Om du vill prova att k?ra den innan du f?tt encodern s? g?r det att g?ra med str?mbrytare ist?llet, googla encoder s? ser du kanske hur du beh?ver sk?ta dom f?r att ?stadkomma samma sak som att rotera encodern.

The idea is to use two SPDT toggle switches instead of the rotary encoder and emulating the behaviour, the signals is described here: or here
You will get the feel for the pattern you need to make with the switches after some practice (:
Make sure to mount them on a small plate to make it easier to switch them as you will need to do this many times.

Hi Group,

I just added a Fairchild FQP27P06 P MosFet transistor across the error protection Schottky diode in series with the whole power supply.? Before the drop was about 440 mV at 540 mA but now it is only 27mV at the slightly higher current.? On my QCX at 14 V it got about 5% more output power on 40M than before.? The percentage increase would likely be bigger if one uses a lower power supply voltage.? In this case the gate goes directly to ground, the drain goes to the input side of the power and the source goes to the output side.? In my case I did not even remove the old diode 1N5711 but just placed the transistor across the diode.? I bought two transistors on ebay for $5.50 post paid although if you wait long enough you can get them cheaper from China on ebay.? It is a simple one transistor mod with no other parts.
