or loose
wire someplace. It could be the wiper on the volume control as was

Sounds like the audio has a bad jack, bad speaker/headphone or intermittent short to ground. Take something nonmetallic and tap and jiggle the components in the audio chain. Cold solder joint would

I would question why you are calling CQ in the second message.? If it's to trigger ReverseBeacon, TEST will do it as well and is more appropriate for a non-responding beacon.?
