Re: QMX article in the QST
Hi John
Yes, certainly it is not a bad thing :-) But as Shirley KE1L said, most of
the time particularly on the lower bands, the band noise or local QRM is
much higher than the receiver noise floor

Re: QMX Kit
Hi Elvin
Yes, this happens a lot, too. I get someone emailing me that they are
missing such-and-such capacitor, they fitted all the others, and they have
one left over. And it's not the right one,

Re: QMX article in the QST
Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Changing the dual op amp and getting 8 dB more sensitivity and decreased noise seems like a valid improvement to me.

Re: QMX Kit
hello all---
my C401(20-10 meter QMX) was labeled "K3J" and tested with my cheap LC meter at 28pF.
so... possibly your C403(80-20 meter QMX), C401(20-10 meter QMX) is the same "K3J" labeled 30pF

Re: Why The EER Method For SSB Generation Works
Hi Ian
I'm using the same approximation for arctan that Guido used in uSDX, which
is quick and simple, and I haven't found it necessary or beneficial to do
anything more precise. Albeit I do mine in

Re: CW on Digi mode?
If your external program is keying the QMX via the paddle port or keying commands, it should be in CW mode.
If it is generating a tone to send (this is how I use FLDIGI), then you need to use DIGI

Re: CW on Digi mode?
I had a similar question. When using(transmitting) the QMX with FLDIGI in CW mode, should the QMX be in DIGI mode or CW mode?

CW on Digi mode?
I purchased a prebuilt QMX+ at FDIM and only ?just got the opportunity to fire it up. For some reason it hears CW better in digital mode than in CW mode. Any suggestions how I can ?fix

Hi Hans
Thank you so much for your insightful comments. Although most of it is over my head. I do sync the frequency change with the amplitude inasmuch as they are output in the same sample at the

Yes, Hans, many congratulations!
And I liked my QMX so much that last week I ordered a QMX+.? Just received it, and am ready to have fun putting it together.
And last night after photographing the

Thanks Paul! What jumps out at me is that on 12m your output power is low and current pull is high. That sounds similar to my QDX situation on 10m. Do you find your finals overheat on 12m? Naively it

Re: Tune Rate Cursor - QMX+

Finally, with the encoder switch disconnected the problem still exists. So I think (item #1 in my previous email) a fault in the the encoder is unlikely.
So, unless I'm missing something, it looks
