Re: 50W Amp - no output #50w #problem
Hi Roland, I suggest starting with the YouTube video from NA5Y: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUVLphjKaFQ Several tests can point you to the problem area, even if you do not have an

Re: Severe QMX+ audio distortion
It seems to me that "severe" and "awful" are extreme adjectives that deserve comparison.? "Awful" compared to what?? For example, Thomas Witherspoon often praises the audio quality of the Penntek

Re: Orientation of D33 on QCX-Mini Rev3 PC
Good morning/evening Nick. Yes, I’ve downloaded the assembly manual for PCB Rev 3 (document version 1.13 published 14-Mar-2023) and was at page 38. I was also using a pair of June 1956 eyeballs

Re: 50W Amp - no output #50w #problem
Hi Aki, I removed C3 and learnt, that it is okay. Resistance? between R2/R3 and D1 is zero, it is conductive anyway, also when C3 is removed. So I reinstalled C3. 73 de Roland

Re: QMX+ with Macbook Air (Sonoma OS)
Hi and merry xmas all. I've been running Maclogger for years now it's simple to set using the Kenwood TS480 settings. I use it with all my QMX's and QCX's using USB-C, no adaptors required. It's a

Re: Severe QMX+ audio distortion
Chuck, I would seek some common denominator in your rig. These kits sound great. Sounds to me like you have an inpendance mismatch in your external audio monitoring. Ted 2E0THH

Re: Orientation of D33 on QCX-Mini Rev3 PC
Brent, I’m assuming that you’ve actually downloaded the QCX Mini Rev 3 assembly manual from the QRP Labs website? If so all the information you need is on page 38, including photographs. 73 Nick

Re: Orientation of D33 on QCX-Mini Rev3 PC
Don't I remember a diode symbol on the PCB, showing where the anode and cathode go? Wait, that's on a QMX and a QDX. QCX is older, but I'd expect the same... 73, Paul --AI7JR -- Paul -- AI7JR

Hello Joe, in a terminal, wi th you should find one like /dev/cu.usbmodemXXXXX Last time i connect my qmx, i find this one "/dev/cu.usbmodem21101" . And in order to be sure that's the right one,

Re: QMX+ with Macbook Air (Sonoma OS)
Joe, Stan had it right: the QMX, when connected, presents a "virtual" serial port that works cross-platform. Most modern devices, whether running OSX/Windows/Linux or even iOS/Android, come with only

Joe - I use a Mac mini with my rigs. I have a QMX mid-band and recently sold a QMX+. Both worked fine on the Mac mini - no special Serial to USB device needed. Simply the port on your QMX via USB over

Re: Severe QMX+ audio distortion
I agree with Stan on this. All of my QCXs and QMXs have great audio. It's possible to make them distort with maladjusted AGC, but if you set it right, or turn it off, the audio is great. The QCXs
