Re: QMX TN0110 Heat Sink
Direct heat conduction to a metal case is the best solution and copper strapping is the way to go. Aluminum isn¡¯t as good of a heat conductor but it¡¯ll do in a pinch. I once did an experiment

Re: Optimizing QMX (80m-20m, 12V supply) Power Output
You should be able to get more than that at 12v supply. I rewound the output transformer on mine using the RWTS method described in the online docs and the output power reached 6 watts into a dummy

Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
A very common measurement problem is overdriving a spectrum analyzer. The general rule of thumb is to not apply more than 0 dBm into the spectrum analyzer lest one see far more harmonic content than

Re: #qmx PTT Control #qmx
Many amplifies use relays to enable transmit. Measuring source or sink current is more realistic.

Re: #qmx Failed IC402 Troubleshoot #qmx
I think there may be some other sneak things going on damaging the IC402.? It will be interesting to see if the diode mod. provides full protection, including other possible sneak actions. Hans did

Re: Is it possible to brick a QDX?
Once in firmware update mode just copy the new firmware file onto the "drive". It does not matter if the version of the new file is older or newer than what is there, it will replace it. DO NOT DELETE

QDX Rev 3 using firmware v1_10 issue
I have a QDX Rev 3,? when I construct it I use firmware v1_05 and everything is OK. Yestoday I upgrade firmware to v1_10 and do some audio filter sweep and RF filter sweep(with dummy load), the

Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
That is an excellent result, Bojan. Bryan, Is it possible that your " attenuator " is not that at all, wherein the output BNC is in fact a peak voltage rectifier port for measuring power? JZ

Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
Hi, I was curious and measured my QMX?again at +13.8V PS and 14.074 MHz (with 4 x TN0110 in PA). With the RF output power of 5W the 3rd harmonic is ~58 dB down. -- 73 Bojan S53DZ

Rob, I usually use a USBASP and mainly Averdudess in Windows. My notes say " QRP Labs kits are supplied with either ATmega328 or ATmega328P. The signature is different. Normally if you see the error

This step still shouldn't be required as I have exited the menu once already and the radio is in a state in which it should Tx. It's a minor thing but it is a bug.

Re: QMX won¡¯t transmit after SWR measurement
Hi In this state just press Menu and exit it. The QMX is able to transmit again. 73 Ben DH5IS

That is showing that the 2nd harmonic (28.12 MHz) is 16 dB below the fundamental frequency.? It's showing the level of the fundamental in dBm.? The others are in dBc, relative to the fundamental.?

Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
For testing I had it connected via a short low-loss coax patch cable (BNC to BNC), that connects to a pigtail (BNC to SMA), then the 25w attenuator, and another short pigtail (SMA) into the Tiny SA
