Re: IS THE BS 170 MOUNTING SYSTEM IN THE MINI A GOOD IDEA?
Good morning George!? Are the mini and the QCX both used on the same band / antenna / voltage?? If not then there may be differences in how much power the finals are asked to dissipate.? If they

Re: IS THE BS 170 MOUNTING SYSTEM IN THE MINI A GOOD IDEA?
Hmm, not sure about how the Mini works, but if it's similar to the QDX, then I'd add a small fan first and see if it solves the problem. I'd probably put a thermal conductor (a pad or heat sink

IS THE BS 170 MOUNTING SYSTEM IN THE MINI A GOOD IDEA?
I use the Mini for high duty cycle WSPR. I also use the original QCX under exactly the same conditions. I am experiencing high failure rate of the the BS 170's in the Mini. The finals are much hotter

Oh Curt! You scoundrel¡¡ promoting the fact that a good tuner (like the tuner in my K3 even) will tune its coax even with an antenna not connected. I found that out a few years ago when my antenna

I think an auto tuner can be piece of mind on temporary antennas. Before my experience with the ATU-10¡¯s, I had used ATU 100 at home to tune up 30 M on EFHW that was pretty much resonant on other

Re: QDX OVER VOLTAGE

Hi most odd, as most the chips are running on 3V3 and 5V and are down stream of the regulators IC2 and IC1. IC 3 and 4, which form the receive chain, runs off VCC, which is 5V, check you do have 5V.

Bartel short answer is tuners only address part of the matter of mismatch, and they work best at the antenna feedpoint. A manual or auto tuner at your whips feed could help, but when placed at the rig

Bartel Be careful. I believe that the QDX is very sensitive to antenna load. For example with my QDX: 30 m into dummy load 1:1 SWR, P= 5.4 watts into tuned antenna 1.5:1 SWR, P= 6.4 watts (too high

Re: BBC news snippet mentions WSPRnet!
No scientific merit is right. From what little I understand, WSPR and the other below-noise-level modes use some cheats to do the seemingly impossible. Slow data rates, error correction, and precise

BR, I have used automatic tuners in the past, especially those included in my Elecraft rigs. But to learn antenna tuners I would start out with a manual tuner and your NanoVNA. I use my MFG manual

I have had a few problems like that with Ebay. I can only say about Ebay but you must stick to the Ebay route. Raise an issue. Ask for a refund or replacement. Do not accept any offer from the seller
