Re: QCX 20m Kit - Top Line Boxes Only On Display
Skip I have just found your post and have exactly the same symptoms and almost the same voltages. How did you cure it? 73s Ted M7ECH

Re: 10W HF Linear Power Amplifier troubleshooting
Floyd, Yes, everything is fine now. The bias is set. I had picked the wrong pad for "/TX" input. Thanks to all that responded. ken - wa4mnt

Re: Very Low Power Out #qcx #problem
SOLVED! The problem was as suggested a short on Q7. The gate lead on Q7 hadn't been snipped close enough to the board and was shorting out with the body of Pot 36. So in the end all that was required

Re: Another single row of white blocks on new build #qcx #40m #problem
Thanks K¨¡rlis Unfortunately I don't have an AVR programmer. I have seen other posts about the blank microcontrollers but I feel I should exhaust all other possibilities before disturbing Hans with

Re: Another single row of white blocks on new build #qcx #40m #problem
Then indeed you could be among the few unfortunate with a blank microcontroller. I had the same issue, and Hans helped me out. If you have an AVR programmer at hand, you can check the FLASH contents

Re: Another single row of white blocks on new build #qcx #40m #problem
Hi K¨¡rlis My mistake! I dropped a 0, it should have read 120mA Thank you Ted M7ECH

Re: Another single row of white blocks on new build #qcx #40m #problem
If you populated the QCX completely, 12mA of current draw is very, very low. You should rather see 120mA. Given that there are no switches in the 12V rail supplying opamps, the idle current of those

Re: Another single row of white blocks on new build #qcx #40m #problem
Hi, I had that fault and it turned out to be an un programmed microprocessor. Hans sent me another and all went well. It seems some entered the supply system. Other people have also had the same.

Hi Trevor,? No that is what I queried. On that page it says that L2 is made longer than the other two inductors for a lower inductance value, but, all other filters have L2 at a higher value.? I was

Re: 10W HF Linear Power Amplifier troubleshooting
Sounds good Ken. And don¡¯t forget to turn the pots back down fully CCW before you start. ?.

Re: 10W HF Linear Power Amplifier troubleshooting
Ron, Ah, maybe that's it. I read it as the TX input to the amplifier. They want the control line to go low. I'll try that the first thing in the morning and report. ken

Re: 10W HF Linear Power Amplifier troubleshooting
Instructions say to ground the /TX input line. That¡¯s the control line that turns it on. You indicated you grounded the TX input line. If that¡¯s the RF input to the amplifier it¡¯s not the point

There isn't any increase at all, even at full clockwise.

Re: 10W HF Linear Power Amplifier troubleshooting
You won¡¯t see a current increase until you reach the gate threshold voltage. That could be something like half the pot range before you start seeing an increase in current. Turn it up slowly and
