Hi guys, I'm very close to finishing up a U3S Kit with the 5w amp. ?I purchased the QRP Labs aluminum enclosure for this kit. ?The GPS will be in a separate polycarbonate enclosure tethered via a shielded cable to the 9 pin connector on the back of the U3S enclosure.
Just curious if anyone has done this and how hot it gets? ?Will it hold up well under what I expect will be a decent amount of heat? ?My beacon will transmit about 38 seconds out of every minute and then recalibrate and start over at the top of the minute. ?I'm hoping that it will survive in the QRP Labs enclosure and that I won't have to add any sort of fan. ?Those are really nice enclosures and I'd rather not have to hack it up to put a fan on it.
Let me know what your experiences have been?
