Re: Update - Low audio gain and no power out with 20m QCX
Steve, Good show. ? Take a look in my photos folder for a picture of my home-made heat sink for the 5 volt regulator chip. ?Standard heatsinks would not fit that particular area. ?They would

Re: qcx with GPS
Thanks Alan, Thats what I suspected, I will have to provide a connector to disconnect during CW ops. 73 Barry NF1O

Re: Update - Low audio gain and no power out with 20m QCX
Steve, That's great! But are you really sure Q1 got hot on receive? Not just cooling down from an attempt to TX? It should not be possible for it to get hot on receive as the PA should be off. Maybe

Re: qcx 20 metri burned transistors
I have just been through this with my 20m QCX.? Turns out IC3 had failed (probably after the 5V regulator failed). Even after I replaced the regulator and IC3 (I used a socket this time) it still

qcx with GPS
since the GPS RXD shares a pin with the Dit input, will it not work if GPS is plugged in? it appears that the RXD could make for some interesting CW. thanks Barry NF1O

Re: Update - Low audio gain and no power out with 20m QCX
FIXED IT!? After way too many hours today I finally fixed the problem. It turned out that Q1 had failed. I only found this after replacing Q4, Q5 and Q6 again. After that failed to bring back the TX

Re: Arduino Shield Rev.2 Interface and setup?
Kent, I've used that sketch recently, but not with an Arduino Shield. It's a straightforward demo that works, though. As far as required software changes, you'll find them in this section of the

new build QCX 20 meter
Finished the 20 meter QCx and found no problems, worked first time. I measure 5,3 Watt output in 52 Ohm load measured with a 2G/s Lecroy oscilloscope ( 47Vpp). Receiver sensitivity 0,1uV / sideband

Re: 30M QCX Power Out Confirmation and Measurements
Looking on the diagrams in the manual I would expect around 4 W (1 dB.low). The voltage drop over the diode, I expected 0.5V not the 0.05 V you wrote. 73 Jan

Re: Arduino Shield Rev.2 Interface and setup?
That demo program does not seem to write to a display.? You change the parameters where it says "Edit ......" and it will run whatever mode you have set.? To change modes, you would edit the section

Re: Arduino Shield Rev.2 Interface and setup?
I $do not$ have that shield but am considered by many to be dangerous around Arduini. The shield instructions say that it is $not$ a complete solution for anything. If you have not already, download

VE0EXP's, nee CG3EXP, U3S not transmitting?
No spots have shown up on WSPRnet.org over the last day or so. I think Polar Prince encountered the nasty winter storm on its way north in the Atlantic. The last time I spotted them maybe 2 days ago
