Re: QLG1 GPS battery charging
Daniel, Similar modules use a large capacitor, 0.08F. The one I tested did not retain charge for long but enough to retain the satellite data for a few hours. This could work with the QLG1. I

5 Watt PA
Hi all, I now have the V3.12 controller chip set up and working in my U3S. I have the 5 watt PA built with full assembly. My question is if I leave the PTT and the Cosine Shaping in a non-active state

QCX: PA instability, dead MPS2907: correct solution
Hi all This refers to the issue which has one or more of the following symptoms: 1) high current draw on transmit 2) low or unstable power output 3) dead MPS2907 The first batch of 500 kits used the

Re: QLG1 GPS battery charging
I can confirm that my QLG1 charges the battery to 2.9V with a GPS supply voltage of 3.3V. It does not last very long thou, a few minutes to discharge down to 2V. I believe this is the reason I doubted

Running a QCX Transceiver with a QLG1 GPS Unit
All, Anybody know what the setup needs to be to allow a QLG1 GPS unit to work with the QCX Transceiver so that when the QLG1 is plugged into the QCX GPS header the transceiver doesn't start

Re: QLG1 GPS battery charging
Hans, Agreed. I had not noticed any major delay when starting with a discharged battery. But I was unhappy with the frequency accuracy of the "GPS disciplined" ProgRock and was attempting to repurpose

Just tried the diode acress the pins, makes no diffrence at all. Dont think im cut out for kit building.

Re: QCX: Start-up issue, correct solution
Sounds like a more fundamental problem to me. If it doesn't even start after a quick power-down power-up sequence I don't thing the diode will help. PeterO G0DZB

Re: QLG1 GPS battery charging
Hi all Don't worry too much about the battery. The QLG1 design process took inputs from a number of different sources. As others noted, the module datasheet is very vague. The battery connection was

I found the battery was not charged in my unit. That's why I started this thread. I cannot understand how a 3.3V supply will charge a 3.0V battery through a diode. The 5V supply might work although

Re: QCX: Start-up issue, correct solution
It is neither a high voltage nor high current application. Just about any small Schottky diode should work. <simon.oliver90@...> wrote:

Alan, Yes, the RF module's description is confusing. I couldn't ascertain whether pin 22 (Vbatt) would source current to charge the battery or not. By measuring the battery voltage in my unit (it

Still cant get my QCX to display anything other than blocks. Not even got to the alignment part yet. Might the Diode trick work? I have a spare Schottky Diode but not sure of its specs.
