You will never lose any SMD parts using the sticky PEN instead of tweezers... :) http://kitman.eprodavac.cz/adhezivni-smd-pero-stickypen-70/ (

Re: QCX: Start-up issue, correct solution
Hans, Just tried schottky from pin 7 to 20 with 470uf tacked on to the 10uf I put there earlier, so 480uf in total at C47, and starts up fine first time. 73 Simon VK3ELH

Re: QCX; Less WSPR plotted and another issues.
Hello Hidehiko I do not know why your WSPR spots are different. Others have reported many WSPR reports with the QCX. I think more information would be useful. Are you using a GPS? Have you received

Re: QCX 40m - Audio
Eddie, my experience has been the opposite of yours - I find the audio quite loud on my 40m QCX. In fact, I tried using a pair of computer headphones with an inline volume control and had to reduce

Re: Power on issue solved on my QCX :-)
Hi Daniel You probably right. My logic is that spikes/pulses can be reduced with low value caps say 0.1uF........... Larger caps say 470uF level out slow changing voltage levels but take a longer time

Hi Alan Sorry for my rantings ~ I have spent more time getting the software update to work than it took to build it. The instructions you wrote are fine (just me not reading) I was trying to run

QCX: Start-up issue, correct solution
Hi all Some people appear to have issues with their QCX not starting up at first power-up; they must switch off, then soon after switch on again, to get the microcontroller to boot up properly. I have

I agree with Martin I was a computer programmer back in the day. It¡¯s impossible to catch every bug during testing. This is part of the reason why trading and banking systems are legacy systems. To

Re: Power on issue solved on my QCX :-)
Having to reduce C47 to 10uF only means the problem is somewhere else, classic case of trying to compensate the symptoms I believe. I don't know where the problem lies, but more measuring is the way

Try SMD kits where you need tweezers to mount the parts. Fun but you lose many parts to the carpet.

I'm impressed by your 4 place accuracy in measuring the pin flight distance. I just let mine fly and then vacuum the area once a year whether it needs it or not.
