I do not wish to guess why the "problem" with audio levels, or the modes used, but it is my guess that the lack of AGC choices in certain modes contributes to another's search for a solution.

Eugene, You might want to also consider ordering some TN0110 FETs, a BS170 alternative, to have on hand if you decide you'd like to experiment with a hardier device. I'd also suggest order a few 5ft.

Lower your SWR protection to "2". If it's a 12-Volt build, run it on 9-Volts for digimodes. Doing those adds a larger margin of error.
