Re: Post Build Diagnostics
Stan, I see four possible reason for so different waveforms * software problem * unstable signal source CLK2 * intermittent failure between signal injection (R518) and PCM1804 * faulty PCM1804 I would

Re: Diagnostics fail with no BS170s installed #qmx
I've managed to get some signals out of the MS5351. This is CLK0 and CLK1, I managed to get some small clips on IC403. Sensible looking signals, expected amplitude, frequency and phase.? The display

Re: QMX+ Receiver MDS measurements
Hello all, Just one? more thing to consider when assessing MDS by ear, is that myth has that the brain of a skilled CW operator can simulate a filter with a bandwidth of a mere 50 Hz, irrespective of

Re: #qmx #QMXplus QMX dismantled awaiting QMX+ #qmx #QMXplus
Thank you for your advice, guys. I'm away from home at the moment. I'll get some images when I get back. I also have a QDX which works fine. It makes me wonder about T501. The QDX is pre twisted

If the 12V didn't stay on, that means the processor likely didn't turn on, which is most often because the 3V supply didn't come up properly.? ?So inspect the 3V smps connectors and connections very

Thanks Conrad. I think I'll make contact with Jeff Moore about working his magic and replacing that pesky part.

Although mine is a newly built QMX+ Don.

Re: QMX constant tone on RX
Mine is doing the same thing. It just started doing that after it locked up for no reason. I thought maybe it was due to me leaving it on 24/7 for 2 weeks.

Re: QMX constant tone on RX
Sounds exactly like my QMX .... Hate to say it, but sounds like the PCM1804 to me. Conard, WS4S ________________________________ Sent: Tuesday, December 3, 2024 8:15 PM To: [email protected]

Check and double check the connectors and their respective solder joints to the two power boards. Use flux when reflowing the solder. Make sure there are no solder bridges and that the boards are

#QMX #qmx
Just finished building a QMX. I followed every assembly step with as much care as possible. Performed an extensive visual inspection with magnifier before applying power.? Applied power...no smoke.

Re: QMX constant tone on RX
I have done some more tests after trying to make sure as many solder joints are ok; used flux when reflowing. Then, with a 12V SLA and buck converter/regulator set to 11.3V and listening to audio on a

Just adding a shot of the QMX+ in service. I should have the new part tomorrow so I will be able to finish the build.

Dan, I have attached a screenshot of the power bank and power cable that I have been using . The same company also makes a 12V version of the power cable if your radio has a transformer wound for that

Re: Post Build Diagnostics
Thank you Stan. Yes, I touched ALL of my solder joints. I'll go back and review L401, T401, and the LPFs though. I'll also take a picture of the board (top and bottom) and zoom in to look for anything

Re: Post Build Diagnostics
Ok - I'm glad that helped so much.? Many have found that their 'good' solder joints aren't so good, so you're definitely not alone. The scans do look much better, but you do still have problems. My
