QMX+ Need a little help.
While trying to figure out the battery issue I shorted out the 3.3v SMPS (I thought) so I ordered two sets of the boards.? When I plugged in what I thought was the defective 3.3V board I had the same

Re: Unable to tune 160m on new QMX+
It is a known problem. I believe Hans will fix it in the next firmware.

Re: Paralleling ProgRock2's
Don, Nice piece of test gear you built!? I've used diodes extensively in the past, but only for DC switching.? For the ProgRock2 implementations I use diodes to form a logic matrix, along with

Unable to tune 160m on new QMX+
I recently finished my QMX+ build and all is well...except for one thing.? When tuned to 160m the rig automatically switches to 80m as soon as tuning starts. All other bands and buttons act normal,

Re: Paralleling ProgRock2's
That's true in numbers, but not necessarily correct in implementation. If you need nine or more unique frequencies, you will always end up in a situation where at least one bank is outputting two

Re: Paralleling ProgRock2's
Diodes may be old school but they work fine.? I just build a rather complex test system for a client and one of the requirements was no processor, so I set it up using diode and relay logic. Remote

Re: QMX+ 12V portable power
Balance is restored.I got a Talentcell 6000 and after playing with some settings, cw sidetone is fine. Now to find time to go out and operate. Thanks to all for their suggestions. -- 72 de AI3W,

Re: QCX Mini 20 M question about L3 windings
Hello Carel and Peter, Thank you both very much for your replies - much appreciated. Some observations: Hans has posted a couple videos: ?one on construction and another on troubleshooting using the

Re: Paralleling ProgRock2's
Note the ProgRock2 has 8 banks of 3 frequencies So getting 9 or more frequencies is not a big deal other than programming and reading the manual. -- Allison ------------------ Post online

Re: Paralleling ProgRock2's
Diode logic is really old school. Resistor is to complete the DC path. -- Allison ------------------ Post online only, direct email will go to a bit bucket.

Re: QMX boot
Sounds like my issue.? If the switching mode power supplies fail, the display looks like that. If you have puTTY on your PC, try to connect on USB.? Mine was on COM6, but yours may not be. Putty

Re: Paralleling ProgRock2's
To those asking about the square wave output -- I've done a lot of these ProgRoc2 upgrades, mostly in Heathkits due to drifted crystals and/or other non-functioning matters related to the heterodyne

I would make a simple ~100:1 attenuator 5.1K and 51 ohm resistors.

Re: QDX Receive Input Limit #rcvr
Randy, in the QRP Labs Wiki is this document ( /g/QRPLabs/wiki/37111 ) about debugging a QMX. Jeff Moore tells about a input level. Both the QDX and the QMX are similar from the rf

I'm troubleshooting a dead receive section in one of my QDXs and was wondering if anyone knows how many millivolts I can apply to the antenna input. I think my signal generator has a lower limit of

Re: QMX+ Power Increasing Question
Hi Greg, interesting news. So for 1.6 MHz no more negative voltage at the gates and 50% duty cycle. This looks fine. So something was caused by the switched drain voltage / current. But how came this

Re: Paralleling ProgRock2's
By far the easiest way is to diode OR the output. two diodes and a resistor and remove power from the unused ProgRock. Use Schottky diodes (low diode drop) 1n5711 would? do fine. Relay works but its

Re: Paralleling ProgRock2's
I'm going to be using these in an old GE MASTR II repeater I'm refurbishing for 1.25m. In that case, the square wave would be no problem due to the tuning of the multiplier stages following. I'm also
