Diodes may be old school but they work fine.? I just build a rather complex test system for a client and one of the requirements was no processor, so I set it up using?
diode and relay logic.?
Remote control and manual front panel control switching are controlled by a single toggle switch, and there is an overridable VSWR tripout circuit for the two internal power amps, which uses an SCR for latching/manual reset.
No processors and no software to manage. ?Just diodes, relays and switches.? No annoying bootup time.
Note that the front panel is the block diagram of the system, and the active path is indicated by LEDs.? Red LEDs indicate low-attenuation paths ("expert settings") which could result in damage to external equipment.??
