My experience is with only the high band QMX, but that prominent bridge you’ve circled in the photo seems odd to me. Is there an instruction in the manual to make that bridge? Perhaps, I missed it.

Jim, My QCX+ switch was bad out of the box too. Got one from Hans in about a week. but darn near ruined the pwb getting the thing out. Sense I dont rack mount my qcx+ next time it goes out Ill wire it

You can build your own like It is smaller than the QMX. Using a LED as tuningindicator isn't the best choice for outside.

I use a home-brew Z-match tuner with my QRP radios - very similar to the kanga products design. It's reliable and has a switchable SWR indicator. It's slightly bulkier than the QMX but its versatility
