Re: QMX freezes after Powering on
It's not my QMX. I don't know why the 1_00_017 is not on there. Windows 11 and the latest Kubuntu. But that shouldn't matter.

Re: I let the smoke out¡
Mike,
" All 3 legs of Q507 measure 11.5 Volts RMS in both transmit and receive
states" . You probably mean 11.5V DC, but whatever...
That is a problem! You need to find the reason and correct it

QMX at sea
I thought I'd post a description of my attempt at operating the QMX from a cruise ship in case anyone is interested.
The XYL planned a cruise for spring break and I couldn't resist stuffing the QMX

Re: Field power method for QMX 9 volt?
Never had an RFI problem with even the cheap eBay buck converters. You could also use a 7809 regulator on a small heat sink. That's what I do at home from my 13.8VDC PS.

Re: Field power method for QMX 9 volt?
I haven't done this yet myself, but will be soon for a QDX. I'm looking at either a battery back that has a PD USB-C output, and then use a cable set up for 9V, or getting a battery pack that can put

Re: QMX RF Filter Sweeps
That did the trick! I reflowed all of the RF components which didn't help, then I saw your message. Sure enough a factory reset made the sweeps looks great!.?And I do have about 3.6W out on all bands

Re: New QMX, USB doesn't work, it turns off. "over-current condition"
Did you search for this? There are reports about false alarms. Not sure there is really an over-current.
To be save you could connect a USB cable to the QMX and check the resistance between the

Re: #qmx not powering up after firmware installation

Hi Alex,
700 mA when pressing T means the TX is working, at least until the PA. If nothing comes out AND you hear really nothing from the RX maybe the output has a short. There are some "unused"

Re: #qmx not powering up after firmware installation

Hi Ludwig,
Using a QRP labs dummy load, with input voltage of 11V (and current 113 mA) then when pressing T I see ~700 mA input current, and around 14 to 18V on the dummy load, so looks like 2 to 3

Re: New QMX, USB doesn't work, it turns off. "over-current condition"
You could try a breakout board to isolate all but the data pins.
