i tried to measure the current, but the USB-Port turned off. better than destroying.
i am worried about to try on another computer, maybe it will not have this safetyfunktion.
I could try it on a powersupplay, but i dont want to BBQ the nice rig ?

it's strange. The QMX should consume no power over USB.
Which computer and OS do you use (Linux I guess)? Do you have a different USB cable? Maybe you have a USB current monitor to check the current?
What's with a different computer to check?
One guess:
1. The mentioned alarm is a false alarm like reported in some discussions on the internet (please use a search engine by yourself).
and 2. There is another reason for no connection. Please read
this.
