Re: clock contrast mod #clock
Hi Bob. thanks for the idea. Its called contrast <improvement> in the manual but either way it certainly effects brightness at extreme settings. I'm okay with it as is. I found a 220k in the junk box

Re: QDX Rev 3 using firmware v1_10 issue
Lynx, Have you tried returning to 1_05 to verify it is a software issue?? It could be that the Si5351 has failed.? If you return to 1_05, please post a screenshot of the oscilloscope trace. Of

Re: Weak receive on QMX version 1 - New build
I would just try flowing the solder around the encoders to see if that helps. On my qcx-mini they are fine on my qmx the right vfo encoder does at times miss the fact that I'm turning it but

Re: QMX and MAT-705 Plus Tuner?
I've used the ATU-10 and ATU-100 in auto tune mode with both my QMX (and some QCX mini before) with great success to tune random pieces of wire (and efhw antennas for bands they were not built for)

Re: Qcx Mini as a 6 Meter CW Beacon
Good morning John, I now realized that I sent the wrong photo, in reality the C30 is installed, instead for L4 I used the yellow T37-6 because on the color scale the yellow ranges from 3 to 50 MHz

Re: QMX Low Band is using High Bands
Upon installing the firmware, at first boot, the software asks what flavor of QMX it's running on. You probably answered "20-10m" by mistake. Make a long press on the left small button, the menu

Re: BS170 Killer?
Joe, cheap hot air is fine for hobbyist use. I have a Yihua 3-channel, that I bought several years ago for about $45. https://a.co/d/9ghEfTl Looks like it's gone up in price, at least for now.

Re: 5W mini transmitter for presetting the ATU
Hello J?rg, Thanks for the tip. I ordered the PICKIT3. For 33€. That doesn't hurt your wallet so much, but when you consider that an ATU-100 only costs €29. Or 3,5 pieces of 20W dummy load from

Does anyone have an idea on which soldering rework station or hot air rework station is best? Amazon has a large amount of rework stations to pick from. I have a stack of older transceivers to repair

Following my previous post I also use a Hermes Lite 2 SDR transceiver. That unit uses two RF Power LDMOS transistors for its PA: AFT05MS003NT1, which are now obsolete but were sold by Digikey at

Re: Qcx Mini as a 6 Meter CW Beacon
Hi Giuseppe, I have two questions. First, the C30 (30pF) capacitor is not installed. Did you remove it? Also, I see that at L4 instead of the T37-2 (red) toroid you used a T37-6 (yellow), I was
