Re: QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
Hi Bryan You didn't say how you connected the TinySA to the QMX. QMX would need a 50-ohm dummy load and proper attenuators. Just putting the TinySA nearby doesn't provide good enough measurements. So

QMX (80-20m) Rev 2 Harmonics
Good evening, I just finished assembling my QMX (80m-2m) rev 2 kit a couple of days ago and I'm in the process of testing it out. This is my first HF transciever as well as my first kit build so

Re: QMX operating voltage to install firmware
In other posts, I have read that approximately 160ma before loading the firmware is normal.? Based on that, I would leave the voltage at 6 and increase the current to 200ma. Read the assembly

Re: QMX TN0110 Heat Sink
A good point, Tony, about the accumulation of heat energy that cannot escape. Disperse the heat through the PCB may help a bit. My ultimate solution to bring the heat out of the box is using a solid

Re: QMX operating voltage to install firmware
Take a peek at pg 62 of the builders manual. Items 9 and 10 talk about powering it up. I use 7.5V at 250ma. -- Colin - K6JTH http://tangokeys.com

QMX operating voltage to install firmware
Hi, group. I just finished building a QMX from Santa Claus, having wired it for 12 volts. I have started by supplying 6 volts at 150MA and see some signs of life but do not see indications on my PC

Re: QMX won¡¯t transmit after SWR measurement
Thank you, Jay. I tested it with the SWR protection ENABLED and again with it DISABLED, into a dummy load, with the same glitch. I then went into the SWR Protection menu option and toggled it to

Brad, The scenario you described is plausible. What level did you have Tune% set at for the fateful SWR sweep? JZ KJ4A

What happens to the current (before & after), when you left-click? Have you been able to load firmware? (I assume not?) Paul -- Paul -- AI7JR

Re: #qmx Failed IC402 Troubleshoot #qmx
This is probably a red herring but mine failed doing an SWR sweep after cutting a new 40m EFHW. I was feeling lazy and instead of getting the NanoVNA out and calibrating it to tune it up, I just used

Re: QMX won¡¯t transmit after SWR measurement
This may have something to do with the SWR protection mode. (Someone correct me if wrong...) When enabled, SWR more than a specified amount (default 3:1) will shut off RF transmission, but you'll

QMX won¡¯t power up
I can¡¯t get my newly finished QMX Rev 1 to power up. When I push the power on button, I do not get 3.3v from IC101. If I power PCB#2 from an external supply and float LIN-REG-EN, I get 3.3v from

Dan IC402 replaced and working fine. I wonder how many deaf QMXs have failed IC402s. I don't know if lacking Han's rev2 mod caused the failure even though it is a high band version or ESD. Thanks for

Re: QMX TN0110 Heat Sink
The main thing to remember about heat sinks is unless there¡¯s a heat transfer path out of the assembly (i.e. convection, conduction, or radiation), a heat sink only slows down the temperature rise

Re: #qmx PTT Control #qmx
Update: The 5v is meassured with a DVM, if I add a load like a 1K resistor the voltage at the middle pin drops to 0v. This is properbly due to a high impedance internal pull up or similar.

Yes, Jindra, good catch on my typo. It would be useful to see what the pin to pin resistances are for the failed Q508. We might be able to discern what kind of fault occurred. The biggest and perhaps
