Re: QMX suffers zero negative impact from deleting L401 (with measurements)
Hello Stephen By injecting a single signal, you will be able to find out at what signal level the radio overloads. But intermodulation requires at least 2 signals. This is the problem you are trying

Re: QMX the current is still 0.1A
I showed p in practice mode, but once I shot, p would be changed to s, I am not sure whether there are parts damaged by virtual welding

Re: QMX the current is still 0.1A
I used NanoVNA to measure the standing wave is only about 1.2(swr), and it still shows S when it is emitted. I am not sure if there is virtual welding

Re: #qmx QMX dead after loose battery connection #qmx
The problem is that, unless the board was designed to allow you to isolate the Zener diode, all you may know is that SOMETHING somewhere has shorted to ground.? It might be the Zener diode, or it

Re: SteppIR and QRP Labs
Great story Hans! Is this just the intro before you announce that you got a 2kW linear from a mistery benefactor and are now turning full legal power? HI HI 72/73 de Enzo M0KTZ (never been good at

Re: QMX the current is still 0.1A
As reported in the latest Firmware Operating manual, that S means that your QMX sees a high SWR and has backed up power to avoid frying the finals. A pretty smart feature introduced in 1_00_010. You

With your DVM see if the resistance goes from infinity to 50K when you press the left encoder.

Re: QMX the current is still 0.1A
When I fire, the Practice/Message mode blank display is changed to S, which I didn't see in the instructions

Thanks Hans... BTW, tried to PM you off list as soon as you made the announcement. Apologize for the noise! Paul

Re: SteppIR and QRP Labs
Congrats on the collaboration Hans. I was an early SteppIR antenna user with a 3 element yagi at 100'. When the antenna works...it works well. When it doesn't........ If you are considering a SteppIR

Re: QMX suffers zero negative impact from deleting L401 (with measurements)
I see a lot of "I think" in this thread, and not a lot of "I measured," or even "I simulated." One data point is worth a million "I thinks." I fired the strongest test signal I have access to,

Hans, Fantastic opportunity with SteppIR! Looks like your wheeling and dealing worked out pretty well in the end. -- 73, Dan? NM3A There are moments when everything turns out right .... Don't let

Re: QMX High swr into 50 ohm dummy load
Did you post the receiver RF sweeps on all bands? Also, can you post close up photos of the LPFs?

I 'painted' the SMPS screw heads black with a magic marker to help me remember not to loosen those. I also put a nylon washer under the screw closest to the power jack- those got red magic marker

Re: QMX PC Connect, Anyone?
Well..... THAT problem is fixed. However, once connected to MLDX, the audio volume drops by about 90%. Disconnecting QMX from the application does no good, nor does quitting the application. Removing

It IS fixed. Don sent me a pre-release copy with the Carriage Return removed. QMX now connects instantly to MacLoggerDX as it should. Jim

Re: #qmx No Current Draw - New Build #qmx #troubleshoot #troubleshooting
Tom, Until you know the reason for the fault, I would not take a working board to test the nonworking radio.? You could wind up with two nonworking radios. Do you have the DMM leads switched?? That

Yes. And you can order replacement boards? " SMPS boards are also available separately in the spare parts section of the QRP Labs shop ( http://shop.qrp-labs.com/qmxsmps ). "
