Re: QCX mini-5volts
It's most likely loaded down by a faulty circuit, not necessarily a short. Maybe a device is installed backwards, check electrolytic caps and semiconductors. Curt

Re: QCX mini-5volts
Joe Can you connect a load resistor to the output pin of the regulator to test the 7805 on it's own? I haven't looked to see what current it should be supplying but ohm's law well give you the

QCX mini-5volts
*In circuit* , 7805 regulator puts out *2.0* volts.? Of course, transceiver not working. When I check output of regulator with *output pin not connected to circuit, it puts out 5 volt* s. With power

Re: QDX and AT-10
Speaking of the ATU-10, I have a like new, tested good copy for sale. Reason for selling: I decided I like my ZM-2 manual tuner better. These are around $115 shipped from China - followed by the

Re: JS8call set up with QDX
Is that really confined to the QDX? I find that the sequencing is very important with the YAESU FT991A too.

Re: JS8call set up with QDX
There's a flaw in the QDX firmware that causes the QDX to not be recognized by Windows if the QDX USB plug is inserted when the QDX is powered on. You might need to plug in the QDX first, then power

Re: JS8call set up with QDX
Steve, Some Windows programs require that the device be active when the program starts.? Did you try restarting the JS8 program after the QDX is connected to the USB port? 73 Evan AC9TU

Re: how to disable output when going from tx to recieve
Are you planning to use this for CW only?? Or other modes, too?? Do you plan to run the VFO straight into the antenna, or will there be some kind of amplifier or buffer?

Re: how to disable output when going from tx to recieve
Another idea: Use a 74AC74 or similar flipflop to divide the VFO frequency by 2 or 4. Then use the multipler setting in the VFO firmware to make the display show the divided frequency. Gate the

What is the supply voltage for the QDX? Wondering if the 4.1 watts shown is the output during or after tuning (or both). I assume both, unless you reduce the power output somehow. Reason for asking:
