Re: QDX and AT-10

Hi Andy,

On that shot, the supply V was 12.2V and the 4V was after tuning.? Power out fluctuates as it's tuning, according to the readout.? I'm one who reported about burning up the BS170s and IC5 --and then posted a photo of the burned lead on the BS170 ;) .? And yes, I really do think it was because I was using like 1.8/higher SWR, it turns out....

I've spent the last two weeks using the LDG AT-100ProII tuner.? Works great, tunes everything on my OCF to about 1.0.?? But the little AT-10 was too tempting and looked like a nice option for portable.? Tuning not as broad as the LDG of course, but decent.??

The good news, the little AT-10 tunes quickly.? And I have more spare BS170's and IC5's ;)? AND it's such a perfect pairing to the QDX.? Anyhow, thought it was worth a post.? I ordered from eBay, and used the "recommended seller" that was mentioned on here a couple of weeks ago.?

What is the supply voltage for the QDX?Wondering if the 4.1 watts shown is the output during or after tuning (or both). I assume both, unless you reduce the power output somehow.Reason for asking: It's been mentioned that possible extreme SWR excursions during tuning (30m?) can damage the PA transistors, if they are already dissipating their power limit before tuning starts.73AndyWM8Q
