Re: 2m/440 cw/ssb qrplabs kit?
I have a Ten-Tec 1210 transverter that should work just fine with a high-band QMX. W1GHZ had designed a simple 2 metre transverter for the Flex-1500 that could probably be reworked by someone handy

Re: Wanted: low power 50 MHz. linear amplifier
I like my Hardrock 50 and there is/was a low-power driver amp option.? If no longer available it would not be too difficult to integrate a similar driver.

Re: 2m/440 cw/ssb qrplabs kit?
Dave, W2KV and I installed a 10 watt 2M transverter inside of a Uniden President HR2510 radio back in the '90s.? Maintained both 10M and 2M operation.
Should be a piece of cake in the QMX+.

Re: AB8DF CW Practice / Rag Chew 1/2/25
Condx poor. Maybe next time. I think I might try 20 meters if I can figure out a good time of day for it. Like the idea of operating where Techs have CW privileges and tempting them to get into

Hello ED ES ALL,
Your invite got me out to my backyard for a “portable ops dry run”, so thank you for the inspiration. ?Unfortunately prop did not seem to cooperate to reach South Florida.

Would also be interested if anyone decides to kit... if not, I may, with permission, try to put some together, but that would probably be at least a few months away.

Re: Wanted: low power 50 MHz. linear amplifier
Besides the QRP-Labs 10w kit, which I see was discussed on another group as an option, (and qrpbuilder.com is using one on 6m, reportedly), there are options from 60dbm.com. Not the cheapest, but

CW Practice / Rag Chew
On 1/2/25 I had a CW practice / rag chew session on 40 meters. I worked three stations:
Conditions were very poor. SSN = 163, SFI = 219, A = 86, K = 5 so the band was pretty noisy.
I will be doing

Hans,
Looking at web hits for PCM1804 failures other than on QM* products, I only see low level noise issues.
What's being reported in this forum is complete failure.
A 15% failure rate is

Re: QMX LDMOS finals
Hi Chris,
I am not sure why there is a difference of peak voltage on the lower frequency bands unless it is due to higher gain at lower frequencies.
I would be hesitant the to change the finals in

Re: 2m/440 cw/ssb qrplabs kit?
Tiny SA is fine for HF - VHF harmonic level compliance checks *PROVIDED* that you know what you are doing.
Basically there's a *very* narrow window of absolute input powers where both a main carrier

Re: QMX LDMOS finals
It makes more sense to make the change on a QMX+ since on 80m and 160m the peak voltage, even with 1:1 SWR exceeds the BS170 maximum voltage rating.

Re: 2m/440 cw/ssb qrplabs kit?
Hi Curt,
I can't see why a tinySA wouldn't do the job, I think that its dynamic range is 70dB, that might not be good enough to measure the good quality cavities of a 2m repeater but plenty enough to

Re: QMX LDMOS finals
As Harold mentions, it can be done with TN0110s, I've done so in several QDXs. But I would NOT do this in a QMX.

Re: 2m/440 cw/ssb qrplabs kit?
Why not just get a transverter?
There was a ham in Ukraine that had a store before the war started. No one else seems to be interested in picking up that mantle (that I’m aware of).

Re: QMX LDMOS finals
Did not investigate the component TN0110 further, but may provide opportunity in combination with an "U" shaped heatsink instead of a washer when installed in a neat way.
