Re: New QCX+ rocks!
Tried it without the GPS and got no spots. Otherwise just followed instructions in the manual. Got the amp in the workshop ready to build. John KY4WW ________________________________ Sent: Tuesday,

Re: New QCX+ rocks!
Sweet! I have got to set mine up for wspr. Was there any issues you encountered in your setting it up? I have the QCX+ in 40 and 20. Careful, once you build one, you will want to build another. The

New QCX+ rocks!
Just finished my QCX+ 40 meter and decided to set up the WSPR beacon. Used the QLG2 GPS receiver to keep time. Using an EFHW tuned for 40 meters and a 3 cell Liion pack. Wattmeter shows a bit under 3

I don¡¯t use those. I do fave a fan though and it keeps the fumes away from me. The room is large. Closed in garage. Sorry I don¡¯t have a recommendation but there are plenty of them out there.

If you build in your home or enclosed space, do you use a smoke/fume "eater"? If so, any recommendations? -- Wayne S. KF7RCM

Pi OS for QDX\QMX
I have a Pi3 that has a "ham OS" on it.? Lots already set up, it was how I got JS8call to work.? I cannot find an .iso or other image to set up a 64 bit OS for a Pi 5.? If anyone knows of one,

Re: QMX output power drift down
Thanks for the feedback.? I understand a MOSFET will increase in resistance as it heats up and many QRP rigs don't compensate for that.? My SW-3B also has a MOSFET final, but its power output drift

Mike, You were correct, a factory reset did the trick! ?Now I will install PuTTY and play around with all the diagnostics. ?Thank you! Derek WF4I

Re: QRP Labs xciever with SSB capability
hi Hans, What is overlooked and interesting is that just amplitude modulating the amplifier creates sidebands that are related to the rate of modulation. So when you have AM at 1khz the sidebands are

Re: QMX output power drift down
This goes to a question I've been meaning to ask, for the BS170s in the PA, is there any reason (providing there is room) why one could not use transistor clip on heat sinks? I tried something similar

Actually the small QMX also has some room for the mod, although the speaker has to be very small to fit in the room. 73, Yoon KM6KJI

Re: QMX output power drift down
A slight decrease in output power in extended operation is normal for any rig that uses MOSFET finals. Their resistance increases with temperature, reducing the gain of the final stage. That makes

Re: QMX output power drift down
Some additional information: On the QMX on 30m where I measure the drift down in power from 5.2W to 4.8W, the initial current draw is 1.16 Amps.? On 20m, where I don't observe this level of drift,

Re: **Band issues with new 60-15M QMX**
Could be something around the processor, like maybe a little solder ball shorting a couple of pins. Try cleaning with a soft brush and inspecting the board closely with a loupe or magnifying lenses.
