What is overlooked and interesting is that just amplitude modulating?
the amplifier creates sidebands that are related to the rate of modulation.
?
So when you have AM at 1khz the sidebands are f-1khz and f+1khz.? Add to that
the phasor for modulating frequency you also get sidebands from that (fm rule).
?
Sum that mess together and the matrix math of real and imaginary elements
makes my head hurt.? Its very dependent on the phase of the amplitude
to the phase of the carrier phase shift.? If they all line up the carrier is
suppressed and the undesired sideband as well.? ?The question is which one
has the most likely errors in time and amplitude and by how much relative
to each other.? And they need to stay constant relative to each other for
the full modulating frequency range.?
