Re: HAKKO 301 desoldering tool
Back in the day (early 90s) I had to change a 286 microprocessor IC for a
client.
All I had at the time was a Weller gas soldering iron with a hot air tip to
remove the old IC (and a decent solder

Hakko (and I believe Pace) make tools to do exactly that. I have removed

Is it normal for the QMX to not have the screen come back after a firmware upgrade?
Mine takes the update, seemingly reboots, but the screen stays off, and it won't take the shutdown command.

Is it possible to run the QMX without the SMPS boards?
My SMPS boards are fried (QMX rev 1 tantalum breakdown described in another thread ( /g/QRPLabs/topic/107459127 ) ).
There are no shorts to ground on 3.3V, 5V, or 12V rails.

Re: QMX TX'ing with a 3kHz pan adapter in HDSDR (just tested in CWT)
No I believe you have to restart QMX to switch between I/Q and non-I/Q mode to make the virtual usb sound card reflect the changes.
BTW I always thought 3k was too narrow, but after trying it out, I

I've used ChipQuik and it really is that easy. Make sure you remove all the solder before you put the new chip on.

Hi Zhenxing,
3k window is pretty narrow for panning. Is it possible to switch between I/Q mode and CW mode on QMX directly instead of DIGI/CW mode?
