May be helpful, may not.? YRMV? .....
Several folks have commented in posts that their clock batteries weren't making correct contact in the holders.
One reported that one set of the contact pins for the actual battery needed to be 'unbent'. I believe two others reported that the batteries they had purchased had odd edges that could not contact the pins as expected.
Couldn't hurt to check 'downstream'? of the battery holder to see if the expected voltage is there.
I ran into such a problem on a small test kit and it turned out there was only one correct way to load the battery into the holder, with the battery having to be placed on one set of the internal contacts before the other or the darn thing wouldn't seat correctly.?

Never mind, this issue has apparently resolved itself.
