Re: Keyboard CW
Never mind, I think it should be way easier to just use a small MCU board that supports USB host/HID to implement ascii to cw symbols. This way any USB keyboard can be used. K3NG keyer seems to have

Re: Keyboard CW
The USB port on QMX is a ¡°USB device¡±. To use a USB keyboard, you need a ¡°USB host¡±, like a computer.
A much more feasible way is to build your own keyboard with keyer implemented in the

QMX+ WSPR Issue?
I just tried WSPR mode on my QMX+. It works fine but it seems that the front panel controls stop working while WSPR mode is enabled. I could not enter the menus or even power off. I had to connect

Re: Progrock2 for Atlas210x
I'd like to expand this to a more general discussion of using the ProgRock2 as crystal replacements in vintage crystal-controlled gear. I have a 1960s military CW-only manpack transceiver, the TRC-77

Most if not all of those tuners have a relay to reverse the input and output connections to accommodate high- or low-Z loads.? While that switchover is occurring there is a practically-infinite

Ok now I see some cool options.
Since Hans started QRP Labs I have struggled with his decoder entry system and said to him, "Why not a keyboard?"
Now he has a USB porr. For emergency field operating

Re: Keyboard CW
I think you can still buy a DJ0MY nanoKeyer kit that has a PS/2 port. I have one of these and it works really well. DJ0MY also provides the gerber files on his website.
It's too bad the widely

Re: Keyboard CW
I've enjoyed building several K3NG keyers. They're great for practicing CW and even have some built-in drills.
I've not built the keyboard option for the K3NG, but it's clearly documented. It does

Or maybe I will see if having a keyboard USB port and a keyboard option in the

Thank you Tom and John. I do love my straight keys. I have been in practice mode a lot lately.

Re: QMX+ Manual - BS170 - solder only 2 pins?

You¡¯re looking at the top of the PCB
The holes the BS170 leads go into are actually little plated pipes electrically linking the top and bottom of the PCB even before you solder

hi,
I just looked in the QMX+ Manual before I start my build and I noticed on page 25 (chapter 2.8) that on the picture all BS170 are only 2 (out of 3) pins are soldered to the PCB?
Is that intended

Re: QMX Time Synchronisation Bug
Hello Andreas
There will be delay, there always is, where USB is involved. But we aren't
sending 1pps via the serial port anyway; so in any case, it's an
approximate time setting not high precision.
