I've enjoyed building several K3NG keyers. They're great for practicing CW and even have some built-in drills.

I've not built the keyboard option for the K3NG, but it's clearly documented. It does NOT require a terminal/computer: only a keyboard.

You can choose whether or not to include an inexpensive LCD screen as part of your build of the keyer. I don't think you're going to find a less expensive or more compact option for keyboarding CW. This is a DIY build, but a pretty simple/basic one.?
