Re: QMX first time power up issue
Jerry, why not reading QMX QMX_plus Startup ( /g/QRPLabs/wiki/36878 ) from the QRP Labs Wiki? 73 Ludwig

Re: QMX+160-6 ceased powering up #QMXplus
2nd UPDATE: i checked the voltage upon powering up with the switch on IC101 which should provide 3.3V under normal circumstances as i understand the process.? The max i get at the input of IC101

Re: Pop Go The QMX+ABS Finals! (Now replaced but still no transmit.)
Another issue is increased unintended inductance and capacitance around those BS170 leads, especially the gate and source leads.? Probably not an issue on 80m, but significant 10m or 6m. Jerry, KE7ER

I've chosen the same board Steve. I found the YouTube video previously referenced ( https://youtu.be/QNENyu97w2A ) AND there are some schematics available on-line. I found that the overcurrent

Re: Pop Go The QMX+ABS Finals! (Now replaced but still no transmit.)
Sockets are a great idea for development but their extensive use in the 70¡¯s and 80¡¯s in professional equipment revealed that they were ultimately rather less reliable than the devices they held A

I¡¯m anxiously awaiting the arrival of my QMX+ and assume this should also work on the + model. If no one can confirm this I will do so in about a month. -- 73, W8JH, Joe

Re: QMX first time power up issue
Interesting, some good info in that post from Hans. Though I'm quite sure I saw black blocks in the LCD, and that there was no solder joint problem. It's possible I hadn't plugged the front panel

Curse you, autocorrect!!! Wrong: <? Grant reports that he can now power down the rig by pressing the volume encoder, but does see the black squares on the display. Fixed: but does see the black

Re: QDX is dead. USB interface nonfunctional. Flummoxed. Help, please.
Hi Jim, Since this is a prebuilt QDX, I would contact QRP-Labs (Hans) for support. You can not do much without a serial connection. Have you tried to load a new firmware? From the operating manual:

New to the QMX, wondering what the power up sequence is. Is this documented somewhere? When fiddling with replacing the 3.3v and 5.0v SMPS's with linear regulators, I found that the boot firmware

Re: QMX first time power up issue
Grant, if you see something at the display VCC (5 V) should be on. VCC is only generated when the firmware is running. It looks like your QMX is running in some way but there is at least a problem
