Re: QDX - Extra Capacity on the 5V supply?
Its safer to use 7805 on dc input jack and not trying your luck.

Re: New kit just stopped working after unplugging the power
Interesting.? It looks like the processor is having a hard time controlling the 5V power supply.? It shows that it is using close to the 'max' duty cycle, which would be to increase its voltage, but

QMX - RF sweep locks PuTTy and device; unable to receive
I am trying out my QMX mid-band that I built. It is connected to known working coax, to the QRP Labs dummy load I built last night. SWR is 1.4-1.5. Main issue: I can hear my key¡¯s sidetone but

QMX Mid Band RX issue
Someone Please Help ME! The QMX Mid Band model I assembled on Saturday also cannot resolve the loud RX noise. I was able to receive the CW signal sent by placing the QCX-mini next to it. I was happy

Re: QMX+ two spools of wire
Hi Jerry, this makes sense. I will try to double check if the length is compatible with the three toroids and if they are okay I will use the smaller one for the coils you listed. Thanks. Giuseppe

Re: New kit just stopped working after unplugging the power
Ok so as I'm a beginner as was misusing WSJT-X big time apparently, that's why I was convinced my transmissions didn't worked.. Now it looks like it's working as I made some contact. But still the 5V

Re: Automatic Antenna Tuner, Internal Battery with a charger and built-in speaker for QMX+. Open Source.
That sounds like a solution! Kapton tape works for me for clamping pressure when testing without a case lid.

Re: Automatic Antenna Tuner, Internal Battery with a charger and built-in speaker for QMX+. Open Source.
I had couple of field days - 4 hour long in ft8 mode and with those voltage drops. No spms or mosfet issues. My general complain about my own solution was that although ATU tunes the antenna - it does

Re: Automatic Antenna Tuner, Internal Battery with a charger and built-in speaker for QMX+. Open Source.
Hi Sardar, Yes agreed, unless the sidetone is turned up loud. Also in received mode, if the ATU is still powered and not RESET the relays will be in the last state. 73, Dave

I do not think lm386n should exhibit high volume in TX mode. -- 73, Sardar (AC8L, 4K6SA, VA3DUA).

Re: Automatic Antenna Tuner, Internal Battery with a charger and built-in speaker for QMX+. Open Source.
Dave, I did an empirical test of a continuous load by keeping Qmx+ in swr tune mode and playing with a non-resonant whip length to keep ATU confused. Then I repeated the same with 4.6w, key pressed. I

Re: Dangers of wall warts.
I have used Talentcell 3000 mAh packs on both QMX and QMX+ for over a year with good results. They come from Amazon and include a charger and cable..$23. Fully charged they provide 12.2 volts. Mike

Re: Newly QDX - First Checks - Question about Power Out
Greg, this looks now just like a decently strong LB QDX, I don't think there's anything to worry about, especially if you don't plan to use 60m. Enjoy! -Nate N8BTR

Re: Error in 5V SMPS diagnostics
Good ideas Ludwig and Stan, I'll try adjusting the values in the 22k - 22k voltage divider that generates the ADC_5V output.? Perhaps provide some drive from the PWM_5V signal, then the ADC_5V signal

Re: Automatic Antenna Tuner, Internal Battery with a charger and built-in speaker for QMX+. Open Source.
Hi Sardar, Cal, I might be wrong, but my understanding is that the VCC (5V) used on the Companion board and ATU is sourced from the SMPS on the QMX+ main board. From the G6K-2F-Y datasheet for the 5V
