QMX+ failure. Power disconnected when in terminal mode #problem #QMXplus #troubleshooting
My recently built QMX+ has just stopped working. I was running the diagnostics from the terminal and disconnected power from the barrel connector whilst still connected to the terminal via USB. The

Re: QMX CW mode signal level lower than digi mode?
Not an extreme amount, also I've tried with and without AGC. It's not noticeably worse with AGC enabled when the output audio level is similar, but it seems like the SNR is significantly lower in the

Re: QMX triggers SWR protect into 50 ohm dummy load. #qmx
At least the same source but a very different way (see QMX Terminal Hardware Sweeps ( /g/QRPLabs/wiki/36859 ) ). 73 Ludwig

Re: QCX+ Keying Issue
Yes, it sure does. In a duplicate thread, Hans suggested it's probably user error. I also attached a video of what I experience. I'll keep playing with it. Thanks all!

Re: QCX+ Keying Issue
Does it behave the same way in practice mode?

Re: QCX+ Keying Issue #qcx
Hans, That's great news! If there's nothing that I need to troubleshoot, I'm okay with that. I'll keep playing with it. I did attach a short video of what I experience. I must tell you that the

Re: Easy removal of broken BNC jack on QCX-mini
Nice. ? I use similar techniques on things that are dead already, ICs with a central (often ground) pads underneath and/or where the replacement is on hand. A clamp holder gives me one hand back as

qmx 20-10 freeze, glitch
Problems arose after updating the firmware. The device freezes when changing the frequency and entering the menu. I went back to the earlier firmware, it works best with version 014 and 015, it

Re: QCX+ Keying Issue #qcx
Hello Jacob It could be an op problem, not a radio problem. Not trying to accuse you unfairly - just saying, it does happen. Some radios' keyers have different characteristics to others, and you can

Re: QMX CW mode signal level lower than digi mode?
Do you have a lot of local noise? AGC is only active in cw mode... 72 de va3rr

Re: QCX+ Keying Issue
Thanks all, I tried cleaning the contacts but I notice the issue even if I short the dah side wire to ground and bypass the contact. And I don’t notice the issue on another radio. I’ll try the

Re: QCX+ Keying Issue #qcx
Hey Steve, Thanks for your note. I tried to clean the contacts to no avail. I also tested just shorting the dah side so I could bypass the contact altogether. Same result. I notice it in practice

Re: QMX CW mode signal level lower than digi mode?
That's why I was expecting / hoping for, but it doesn't seem to be the case for my unit. It's really unclear to me why all signals seem to sound so weak with the CW filters active. If I'm

Re: QMX triggers SWR protect into 50 ohm dummy load. #qmx
Hello Daniel,Just curious - are you able to receive any signals?I realize that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with transmitting, per se, but if receiving is OK that may narrow down the

Re: #QMX Rev4 v27, kit just built not working #qmx
Very curious.? This would be a good question for Hans.? What in the circuit could cause the transmitter to fail to key unless the sidetone is put in relative mode?? I don't see any connection

Re: QMX CW mode signal level lower than digi mode?
Mine seems to behave opposite - the amplitude is significantly higher via filters in CW mode than in Digi mode, or when no filter is set in CW.

Re: QMX triggers SWR protect into 50 ohm dummy load. #qmx
Interesting. So the bandpass filter scan looks good?? I was under the impression that the BPF scan uses the same signal source that does the LPF scan (I could be wrong).? If so, the scan signal had

Re: QMX triggers SWR protect into 50 ohm dummy load. #qmx
You know SWR protection is activated because 1) an 'S' appears in the display right after the frequency, and 2) the transmit power is turned off.? You have to manually enable transmit again by

Re: QMX triggers SWR protect into 50 ohm dummy load. #qmx
Protection is set at default 3:1. low pass filter isn't showing a curve, and SWR sweep is displaying >10:1. But the other diagnostics are all reading as okay. SWR protection warning is stated in the
