Re: QMX VFO
More ... It seems if I enable Rx Outside Band, it works. But from then on both VFO's get messed with. What was in VFO A or B may change upon Power Down. After power up, I may see a different

Re: QMX triggers SWR protect into 50 ohm dummy load. #qmx
How do you know the SWR protection is activated? What indication is showing on the radio or in terminal mode that says so. I’m just asking because I am curious. Myron WV?H

Easy removal of broken BNC jack on QCX-mini
I have 3 QCX-mini transceivers that I've built for various bands, and today the center pin on the BNC antenna jack broke when I was disconnecting my antenna feedline from my 30 meter QCX-mini.? The

Re: QMX triggers SWR protect into 50 ohm dummy load. #qmx
Could be one of many things - we need more info.? One likely culprit is problems with the output transformer T507: primary/secondary windings shorting, soldering fault, enamel not completely removed

QMX triggers SWR protect into 50 ohm dummy load. #qmx
Hi, Just finished a build of a QMX 80-20 and on powering the unit and testing tx into a dummy load it triggers protection and does not indicate any tx power whatsoever. Anyone got any

Re: W2LI Magnetic Loop Antenna - Anyone Use This?
Yes, in fact I have only tried it double looped when the extender is used, that allows the coupling loop to stay the same size (as 10% of the radiating loop size).

Re: QMX: What a great radio and fun build!
Me too: Saw the RSGB YouTube presentation & wanted to get back into playing radio and understand this new-fangled SDR stuff so ordered the QMX+ kit and built it with the intention of playing & probing

That’s very strange then. I’ll try again tomorrow, just to confirm that I can get onto the usual page. Thanks for the replies, Luc and Martin. 73 John G4YTJ

Since you don't care about the old chip, but DO care for the board,? you could take a scalpel blade (I prefer #15) and cut off the leads flush with the package, then remove the leads individually.?

Re: W2LI Magnetic Loop Antenna - Anyone Use This?
Have you tried forming the longer loop two turns?? It might be better mechanically. It is an experiment I have been meaning to perform. 73, Don N2VGU

I found this one: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/cinch-connectivity-solutions-johnson/142-0701-881/210495 Adafruit usually carries a cheaper one, but it is out of stock:

My mistake. Yes, pins 4 and 5.? It could be an errant reflection being picked up by the camera.

Re: W2LI Magnetic Loop Antenna - Anyone Use This?
Hi - Yes, the power output of the loop has a lower efficiency on 20m (28%) than on 17m (49%), and it goes down from there using the basic loop calculators. By the time you get to 40m the output

Re: W2LI Magnetic Loop Antenna - Anyone Use This?
John, Are you allowing for power differences? Many do use about 5 Watts but I can produce a map like yours on 17m with about 100mW from a U3S. Many use much less than 5 watts, yes, with lower SNR
