Kevin, specifically check soldering and continuity and look for shorts
(with a meter) on the pins connecting the front panel to the main board.
You want the pins that carry LCD lines D0-D3. I had the

There's been talk of checking the display's data lines. The older firmware only used 3 bits, where the new uses 4. So check for shorts between the data lines.
Also check on the mother board, people

Check your pin soldering to the LCD. The newer LCDs use 8 pin addresses rather than 4 pin.

Kevin,
V19 used 4 bits (io lines) v23 uses 8 lines to communicate with the
display. Search the forum for details but it sounds like there is an issue
with the comms from the main board to the display

Hi Kevin - The first thing I would do is write down all of your settings in _19, re-install _23, power-off, power-back on, open a PuTTY session, and do a factory reset. Then go back into PuTTY and

Re: Kick stand for QMX/QCX
Found these at a better price on eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/305358273235
Amazon was going to cost me about NZ$80 including a large freight cost to

Hi everyone.
My QMX is a Rev4 from late May 2024. I just upgraded from firmware _19 to _23 and the QMX acts as though the language has changed on the display. The language is not recognizable to me,

Re: What is the best QMX Linear Amp
The Hardrock 50 seems like a perfect match for 5-ish watt radios.? The available built-in antenna tuner is very effective and can be used with the amplifier or alone.

QMX+ L504 substitute
Hi all:
I broke L504 during my QMX+ build.
Is the value of 47uH critical, or can I substitute say 56uH without a problem? I can get closer by paralleling two 82uH. Would that be ok?
If I had to, I

Re: QMX question: What is maximum safe VSWR for TX in digital modes?
Could be that my cheap'n'cheerful Chinese SWR bridge isn't especially accurate down at the low end, I suppose. (Or my series-pass regulator isn't doing what I think it is when transmitting.) I'll run

I have got an old school Tokyo Hy-Power HL-50B.? Awesome thing and with a PTT cable works brilliantly.? More pricey than something like the PA50 but a quality linear.? Can be had for sensible money

microPA50+ works fine with QMX as long as you use the PTT cable and you have an adjustable power supply for the QMX to set the output power. The amp is a little touchy on input power and it varies
