QLG2: No Data via USB
#qlg2
My OLG2 works great with my QRP Labs Shack Clock. Now I want to use it (separately) via USB to a Raspberry Pi. The device is recognized as?/dev/ttyACM0, but when I type "cat?/dev/ttyACM0" no data

Re: QDX transmit troubleshooting advice¡
Thanks for the correction. Yes, I did put in 47 v zeners and not 1N4148 as I typed. My error.
I was more interested in responses to the main Question of my post ¡ª why should only Q9 be the failure

Re: QMX Q103/Q104 Question :-(
Well, I obviously re-soldered Q103 in place HI. I realize it was not clear from the previous post...

Re: QDX PA modification with 2x IRF510
Thanks, Allison. I remember studying switch-mode power supplies in my electronics course, but that was quite a ways back. Time to pull out my textbooks.

Re: QMX Q103/Q104 Question :-(
Jim I ended up desoldering Q103. It was almost ok, except for the source pad which didn't like it. I soldered a wire between the sources of Q103 and Q105, replaced D101 with a THT one (it was toast)

Martin and others,
Thank you for the reply I appreciate it very much, I have used FT8 a lot on 3 different radios so I understand that some fiddling may be required.
I run it on a net book with my my

Thanks for the tip about power measurement. I was not aware of either ALT-Right or CTRL-Left clicks.
I did no see much difference between conventional and WTST

Re: QMX Q103/Q104 Question :-(
Jim,
Recently ordered kits are checked for the sort before sending them out. Hans says he moves Q103 with a hot air system if the short exists. Maybe he as a smaller nozzle.
I suggest you be sure

Tony,
You can clearly see the improvement in coupling that the twisted winding
has over the conventional winding, with the expected improvement in leakage
inductance as well.
I think that is

QMX Q103/Q104 Question :-(
I ordered my QMX kit back in March. After a three month wait it arrived. Didn't take long to realize that there was a critical part missing: the binocular core for T-507. I ordered a new one and after

I was pointing out that the diodes mentioned needed to be Zeners, where they were positioned.

Re: QDX PA modification with 2x IRF510
Lee,
Not class E.? Its class D and MOSfets or Bipolar transistors can do that.
Class-D requires a on state (saturated) that Mosfets do well.? ?Its not device
speed as IRF510 is more than good

In LTSpice if you hover the cursor over a component as if to measure
current through it, then press ALT and right click, LTSpice will give you a

Re: QDX transmit troubleshooting advice¡
Hans,
For any dissipative non-reactive component, linear or not, the power being
dissipated at any instant is V(across) x I(through), period. It's that
simple.
