Re: QDX for 40-10m - Should I wait? #qdx
Hi Steve I'm not planning to offer custom combinations of bands. I am planning to offer the existing 80/60/40/30/20 model and a new 20/17/15/12/11/10m model. The configuration can support up to 6

QDX for 40-10m - Should I wait? #qdx
I am interested in a QDX that will operate 40-10m, and have some time to do a build soon. Should I go ahead and order now and do one of the unofficial high band mods that have been posted here, or

Re: How do yiou know your ground is any good?
I once had a tour of NORAD in Cheyenne Mountain near Colorado Springs, CO. The buildings in the Mountain were built on springs which was fine until they tried to connect Ethernet between the

Re: How do yiou know your ground is any good?
Willie, the currents in cloud to ground lighting strokes are measured in tens of thousands of Amps, with a very short rise-time. Although one can try to protect, as much as possible, physical

Re: #qdx Low RX levels, but not totally gone. Not sure where to look. #qdx
Thank you. I was able to crank up the temperature on the soldering iron to about 650¡ãF and reflowed all the enameled wire. It looks better - the noise floor goes up when an antenna is connected vs

Re: IRF-510 in QDX
As promised, I'll let you know. But I will upset the skeptics and report on the use of QDX with IRF-510. Power - 8 volts. Carried out about 600 QSO on 20 meters. The transmitter is working 66

Re: How do yiou know your ground is any good? OT
Everything must be steel, connections only by welding, withstand currents of 1000 amperes, and no steel - coupr transitions. Do not confuse lightning protection with RF grounding. -- 73, Oleh,

Hi, Brad There is a classic picture in lightning protection literature - a small building engulfed in flames after a lightning strike, with an arrow pointing to the ground wire from a corner of the

Re: QDX No TX on Antenna #qdx
A ferrite with only one turn is gonna be useless at 0-30Mhz. You need to add a ferrite with maybe 4-6 turns, but this depends upon the grade of ferrite and it's size. More turns = highest impedance at
