Re: QDX issues: please include info:

Please,
Tell me like ¡°NanoVNA for idiots¡±, as you would tell a child, how I use my NanoVNA to measure accurately the uH L values for the inductors going into my QDX. I might be able to figure it out on my own but might screw it up and if you know how to do it right, it sounds like it would be worthwhile. thanks & 73 |
Re: QDX issues: please include info:

Thank you for that info, Stan. Looks a bit meatier than I'm ever likely to need, but it would certainly do the job? :-)

Fw: [QRPLabs] CAT Problem maybe?
Thanks again for the info.

The problem is a setting in L32. Got QDX working all ok with Logger32 Cherry Picker. Now need to find out where my missing 1Watt is! 73 Ian G4GIR ----- Original Message -----

Re: JS8 QSO Party this weekend
Any thoughts about having an "@QRPLABS" or "@QRPQDX" callsign group?
I've been lurking on JS8Call's 40m frequency. It's good to see Hans getting behind JS8Call, I see a lot of heartbeats but not much traffic. I hope the popularity of QDX will get more hams involved. Thanks! --Al WD4AH |

Alan, I got similar results with mine at 24.999910 and it also appears stable. I¡¯ve not seen them this far off before.? Ron On Sat, Nov 13, 2021 at 01:09 Alan G4ZFQ <alan4alan@...> wrote: On 13/11/2021 07:08, Shirley Dulcey KE1L wrote: |
JS8 QSO Party this weekend
New QDX owners may have an opportunity for QSO's with their counterparts here:
/g/js8call/viewevent?eventid=1123335 Not mentioned on that particular page (but elsewhere): it starts at 1900Z Saturday. I plan to check in periodically with my 5 watts.....no - with 5000 milliwatts. -- John AE5X |

Hi Julian,
The EFHW I have is from KD8UJM on .? I wanted to get on the air so bought this one after some looking around. I attached a VSWR plot of the antenna from 3 MHz to 33 MHz.? Top of screen is 3:1, middle is 2:1 so you can see it over the HF band. I run the QDX on a 9V lithium battery - attached a picture of that too.? Ran on 80m last night on WSPR for 6 hours. I live in a rural area on several acres, so I have the antenna near a corner of my house, and then sloping upward to a tree using a rope.? ?The antenna wire is around 130 feet long. Thanks. Re: QDX - No RF output, Tx line stays low
Hi Jay, did you mean to say R27 and not R37?? If it is R27 you are referring to, that's part of a filter/amplifier circuit for the I/Q signals.? That resistor should only affect receiver performance.? Steve KY4GX. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14 |

Re: QDX CAT Control Issue?
Catched a fault when using JS8CALL. I have ferrite nr. 31 on all cables. Maybe next I will test a few hours with only a dummy load.
@Hans, in the log function, would a counter as timestamp be possible? That way we can differentiate between logs lines from yesterday. Or maybe a 'boot' mark. Re: QDX firmware 1.01c with aids for debugging no-transmit-RF issues
Along the same lines of what Darryl said, I was thinking yesterday that a future software feature to be able to inhibit transmission on selected bands might be useful. Say, for example, I have an antenna which is good for 40m and 20m but not good for 80m or 30m and I want to prohibit any accidental transmission on those bands. That seems like it might be a nice safety feature. 73, Gregg W7GRM On Fri, Nov 12, 2021 at 10:54 PM Hans Summers <hans.summers@...> wrote:

Hi Evan, Very strange that you get it to work for a while and then something seems to happen and you lose signals temporarily. At that point I assume you try switching bands and back and it still doesn't work? Have you also tried a different USB cable? My cable here is quite long but I would describe it as a high quality cable. 73, Gregg On Sat, Nov 13, 2021 at 1:15 AM Evan Hand <elhandjr@...> wrote: Hi Greg, |

Eventually got it working on W7 laptop.
WSJT-X soon showed 0.000 in frequency window. Did respond to retune to 30m but QDX was not right. Had to restart everything.
