Re: Crystal Heat Sink for the Synth module
Hello Micheal. I had a similar problem in 20m trying to get the drift stable. Before doing anything to the rig, I used to get awful drift. Really to the point of getting zero spots. -4 -3 were very

Re: Crystal Heat Sink for the Synth module
Well that's promising. The first 8 spots after getting the PA lined back out had 0 drift. Maybe the brass donut did the trick. on 80m the same rig was drifting between 1 and 2.

Re: PA Bias- Adjust after band switch?
Well... I put the U3s on the bench, hooked up the oscilloscope, and sure enough, output with (3) BS-170's and a little over 8V was only a little over 100mW. I moved it up to 500mW. We'll see how it

Re: QCX: Start-up issue, correct solution
I¡¯ve tried the fix but no luck. I have two lines of bars with a pulsing thin line that moves up/down through the bars.. Thinking IC2 is not doing its job, but the pulsing makes me think there is

PA Bias- Adjust after band switch?
Should I reset my PA bias after switching bandpass filters?? I wouldn't think so. I ask because I had about 500mW with the 80m filter last night and now on 30m I get 100mW. I set the bias with my

Re: QLG1 GPS battery charging
Daniel, Similar modules use a large capacitor, 0.08F. The one I tested did not retain charge for long but enough to retain the satellite data for a few hours. This could work with the QLG1. I

Re: QLG1 GPS battery charging
I can confirm that my QLG1 charges the battery to 2.9V with a GPS supply voltage of 3.3V. It does not last very long thou, a few minutes to discharge down to 2V. I believe this is the reason I doubted
