I bought the tail end of a reel, and there are a >>LOT<< more than I will ever need.? $2.00 for 12 pieces plus shipping??? ?Due to the ridiculously high cost of international shipping? ($13.75

Re: Difficulty winding and installing transformer T1
#qcx
QCX 40 T1 wound ok after I figured out which ends of the wires went in which holes, so they would just drop right in. My problem came from not RTFM and leaving a longer loop on the windings. If I had

A question....
Why are so many people getting their underwear bunched up over someone starting a facebook group? Nobody is being forced into using it - that is a choice that you make for yourself. If John wants to

Re: U3s first wspr
True Blue seems to have rather quiet. Maybe he's keen not to let us know he's really John KM6HUV, who also posts as Hazada Masklo. I wonder who he'll be next week ? ;-) 73 de Andy

I find it very strange that a member of this group is hiding behind a nickname and won¡¯t post his (or her) callsign. I specifically asked what it was when the New Year QRSS Party happened but

Re: No new group please!
Take a look at how the Elecraft message board is organized.? It's all one group but there are several sub-groups suck as K3, K2, QRO, for different products.? Works great. 73,Bill NZ0T

Re: Difficulty winding and installing transformer T1
#qcx
It's easy to always a toroid in the same sense.? I always stick the wire through the toroid towards me and then start winding to the left side of that first wire.? On could do it the other way

Re: QCX Blank LCD
Possibly you haven¡¯t installed the microcontroller correctly. Check for bent pins and correct orientation. Regards, Steve

Re: QCX constant keying
If it's still keying with the pin lifted then the ic leg input is likely damaged and a new processor ic will be required.

Re: QCX Blank LCD
Hi Richard, You have been unlucky if you have damaged the 7805 because it has internal short circuit protection. Does look like it is though! 73 Roger G4IUP

Re: QCX Blank LCD
Yes, I checked and reflowed the solders on both the PCB and the LCD. They seem OK. New problem: I had 2.8 volts between the pins of the regulator until I slipped and shorted them. That let a little

Re: QCX Blank LCD
Hi Bill The backlight is powered via a series resistor from 12V. So as to not increase the power dissipation of the 7805 regulator. So your original post is still valid 73 Hans G0UPL

Re: QCX Blank LCD
OOOOPS!? I just noticed you have nearly 5V at the backlight, so the regulator is probably working OK.? Check the solder connection of both the connector on the PCB and on the LCD module.? All OK??

Re: QCX Blank LCD
Pin 2 of the LCD should have +5V on it.? Since it isn't there, the next logical place to look would be at the output of the +5V regulator.? With the numbers on the regulator facing you, what do you
