Re: QRSS transmitter 160m band, help needed please

Hi Colin

I built one and it works very well...running last night in fact...
Not had any problems with the osc starting up though..

Few things I timkered with..
I couldnt get enough FSK shift with the twisted wire C3 so I used a 10pf small variable trimmer cap which cured it..

My output power was much lower than my other QRSS kits and I found that increasing C11 coupling cap, from the PA to the output filter from 1n to 15n helped in that respect..

Also, the slip of paper instruction for the 160 meter version has some caps labeled wrongly (I think..... please check Steve).

It says C5 & C6 are 820pf and C7 & C8 are 2.2nF...
I think it should read C5 & C8 are 820pf and C6 & C7 are 2.2nF...

Good luck with it

Hi, has anyone else built this one? I can not get the Xtal to oscillate all componants are in the right place with values checked and correct, no dry joints or solder splashes, number of turns on L1 maybe need adjusting?

Any ideas please.
