Hi Hans,
Thanks for the info, but this now leads to to other things that
are puzzling me.
Assuming what I have is correct, why can I not send CW?? 3.10
states that all I need do is connect a straight key across the
right (Edit) button. If I do this all that happens is the display
alternates between enabled/disabled.
I've inserted a couple of queries in your response below.

Hi Brian
You don't get rid of the 00 0. I think para 3.10 needs
updating...?
The 00 is the index into multiple messages in the Message
parameter, if you use that feature.
What should I do if I do not want to use multiple
messages/the Message parameter?
P.22 of the Op Manual where it refers to Error:4 Message
(bottom of page) states that the message setting is not used
in TX CW mode, so why is there a 00 index in this mode?
The 0 specifies the "Aux" setting which is the 4-bit value
that appears on LCD lines D4-D7, and can be used for
controlling relays and other things.?

I'm
having a heck of a time setting up menu configurations in a
multi band U3S. I have set three, one for WSPR and two for
transmitting CW. All different bands. First problem is the CW
settings. I have one configuration set as:
2] 2 007,018,000
TX CW??????? 00 0
To me this means number 2] mode transmission screen; that I
have selected band 2, and a frequency of 7.018 Mhz. TX CW to
transmit CW as shown in para 3.10 of the Operating Manual.
But how do I get rid of the 00 0 at the bottom right? They are
not shown in para 3.10 and despite all my efforts I can't
delete them. I must be overlooking something very
simple..........?
