It may work to turn down the agc threshold to about s6 or even lower.? My agc didn't often activate when I used the default threshold.

I had the volume turned up to hear quiet cw signals, and so my speaker was being over-driven by the few very strong cw signals. So I needed to turn the agc threshold down to make the strong signals weaker.
