Question about the process of using a manual tuner. I have a QRP Z-Match as well as a homebrew switched inducatance L-match ala VK3YE.

What is the best process for tuning pls ? Do I increase the SWR protection value to get past tuning, or would I be better off reducing input voltage to around 8V for the tuning cycle ?
