Yes? the tabs on those encoders are fragile and you shouldn't flex them more than once, or risk breaking them. So I usually push them down carefully to where I want them and then use a little piece of a left over capacitor lead through the hole when I solder them in place. I want to make sure I have a sturdy electrical connection and I don't care what it looks like.
