It could well be the case. The DIT has an external 2k2 pullup and the DAH has none. I also suspect it would help in this case.
What I would like to see HW-wise is a separate jack (pins) for the GPS input and an additional sandwich PCB for all analog stuff like BPFs and LPFs.
