Re: Best kit building solder ?

Hi All, enjoying the discussion. I have been building for years and years.. always Kester 44 Sn60Pb40 Solder .031" works great for any soldering but does leave a rosin residue that needs to be cleaned up.. some dont. Recently I obtained a couple of older OHR rigs a 400 and a 101A. I think these were built by the company.. phenominal work and almost no residue. Come to find out OHR recommended 245 Sn63Pb37 .015 water based core.. wow.. I never have tried this until most recently and have build several QMX rigs and repaired several others with it.. Love it.. Almost no residue and it solders like a charm. I also have some silver bearing solder that works great too.. from chipquick .015 SMD35W but it is pretty pricey.
Try 245! is it great!
